The search for alternative materials to plastic has been going on for many years. Today the different states, although certainly differently, have enacted laws that support these initiatives, in some cases banning plastic materials, in others supporting differentiation practices for correct recycling.

In this context, we received a request from one of our customers, who, driven by the need for identifying valid alternatives and, at the same time, to launch an innovative package on the market, asked us for a solution capable of applying paper covers with cotton net on cardboard boxes for cherry tomatoes.

Such a request for the use of so a new material and different from those available on the market so far, has led to the development of a customized solution.

Several meetings were necessary with the customer, to deepen the marketing and commercial strategies that led to the choice of the desired package. In addition, an accurate analysis of the possible materials was carried out and together we identified the most suitable machine for this application in GNA product range, the Wrap Box 600 machine.

The various tests with packaging materials in paper + cotton net led GNA technical team to define the machine groups to be modified for the necessary customization, made possible thanks to the peculiar versatility of Wrap Box 600 packaging machine WRAP BOX 600.
